We would like to draw your attention to a new program at our university: The Freiburg Rising Stars Academy. Our goal: Connecting highly qualified international early career researchers to Freiburg scientists in order to create and enhance international cooperation.
This year, the focus is on two of the strongest Research Profile Fields of the University of Freiburg: Biological Signalling Research and Functional and Bioinspired Materials. We invite PhD Candidates, Post Docs and young talents at a similar career stage from the following subjects to apply: Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, Informatics, Physics, Engineering, Microscopy, Medicine, and related interdisciplinary fields.
What does the Freiburg Rising Stars Academy offer?
In October 2021 successful candidates, the Rising Stars, will start on a virtual level to collaborate with the Freiburg scientists: They will work jointly on research projects, gain access to top-level research infrastructure, develop new ideas, get to know team members, and gain international experience.
All Rising Stars will be invited to Freiburg from March 21st to March 25th, 2022 for a scientific conference and to spend time in our laboratories. During the conference, Rising Stars and their teams can compete for participation in the Rising Stars in Residence Programme, which will allow the best of the best to come back to Freiburg for an extended research stay.
