We are pleased to inform you that TU Darmstadt again offers summer programme this year. The Virtual International Summer University: “German Enginnering and Language” will take place from May 15 to July 30, 2021.
The VISU programme invites undergraduate students from engineering degree programmes to explore German Engineering and to get an insight into the German Language and Culture. Due to the Covid-pandemic our VISU will be purely virtual.
The Virtual International Summer University consists of four components:
1.Engineering Courses
a.Mechanical Engineering: Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Production Engineering
b.Electrical Engineering: Electromagnetic Field Simulation and Microfluidics + bioMEMS
2.Online German Language Courses – STEM (beginner to pre-intermediate level)
3.Cross-Cultural Competencies Training for Engineers
4.Virtual Social and Cultural Events as well as virtual Excursions.
Courses:
The 2021 programme will hold different engineering modules where students will have the opportunity to choose two courses of either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. We believe this gives students the possibility to gain a deeper understanding in the chosen field of study by focusing in these areas of engineering. Although this is not a requirement, this programme will be most useful to undergraduate students with an interest or previous knowledge in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Students studying in similar subject areas within the field of Engineering and Science are of course also welcome to apply.

Costs:
The total costs are € 1,200.
Partial Scholarships available for students of partner institutions.
The programme costs cover: engineering courses, workshops, virtual company visits, language courses, cross-cultural competencies training for engineers, course materials, virtual social activities and virtual excursions.
Credit Points:
Participants may obtain a total of 12 ECTS (credit points of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), which accounts for 6 US/Canadian Credit Points.
Application Deadline:
The application deadline is April 15, 2021.
